[Electro, Grime]
Kanji Kinetic's obsession with music led him to experiment in a huge
variety of genres, but it was in the clubs of London where a love of
filthy beats and twisted basslines took center stage.
After a short period of Drum & Bass production, Kanji began creating high-energy 4x4 and dubstep beats with influences ranging from oldskool rave, drum & bass and chiptune, united by monstrous basslines. The full range of sounds is showcased in his first release, the "Bakemono" EP, set for release in May 2008 on Subgrade Records.
Kanji Kinetic has played at some of London's dirtiest bass-led nights, alongside heavyweights such as Dexplicit, Benga, Oneman, Faggatronix, Pirate Soundsystem, Silverlink and more. His tracks have had play support from the likes of Starkey (US), L-Vis 1990 (UK), blend! (Hungary), cutups (US), and Raffertie (UK), as well as having featured on the New Noise show on London's XFM radio station.
At the beginning of 2008 Kanji teamed up with friend and producer DeaD PersoN to form Electrostimulation Records, a diverse label which will showcase fresh sounds across the board of electronic dance music. Releases and clubnights are planned for 2008.
