Gibril 'The GiKu Experience' Kuyateh is the newest producer-remixer-tastemaker to be granted a prestigious and rare spot on the Giant Step Jukebox. Hailing from Brooklyn, this house head keeps the rhythms moving with soulful timeless sounds...
...that move the human spirit. Whether ripping a circle with the Afro Mosaic Soul dance collective out of Brooklyn, which he co-founded, or educating the crowd with a foreign cookie... the artistic Gemini is definitely one to watch.
His radio show "The GiKu Experience" is an eclectic arrangement of carefully selected hand picked pieces from global artists, thats created to transport the savvy ear to a melodic Afro Soundscape. Each session evokes a different emotion and journey, but always drawing you in to an Experience via Deep Soulful House, Left Field Jazz, Abstract Minimalism, Rare Vintage Funk, Classical Masterpieces, Never Heard Before Gems and Jazzy HipHop circa early 90's.
His sets encompasses original productions, re-mixes (aka re-experiences as he call them), rare and exclusive cookies (cookies are a musical treat that warms the soul), and up and coming artist whose sounds will one day become a classic.
