Wla's natural love for music start in his childhood, heavly influenced by his father while listening to jazz, blues & disco on the early 80's. As a teenager Wla witnessed the very beginning of the dance movement in portugal because of his older brother DJing in clubs...
...he was so excited with what he saw that he decided to get his own 1200's along with a friend and though him self the art of mixing. In the mid 90's he started to organize the first events in his school and youth clubs and found him self playing in front of crowds in venues around portugal.
He had his own popular venue called saturday techno club, where he booked international DJs such has: Gayle San, Trevor Rocklife, Mike Dearborn, Craig Walsh, Josh Wink to mention a few... Wla Garcia was a name that people were talking about and his value was recognized when he was invited to make part of x-club the biggest DJ agency in portugal at the time what led him to play along side Carl Cox, Jeff Mills, Dave Clarke, Sven Vath, Richie Hawtin, Joey Beltram and many more. In the late 90's his natural interest for music production made him to build a studio with his brother where he started to make his own productions.
Wla's talent was quicky recognized by releasing his first record on a portuguese know label "Squeeze Records", after he decided to start his own label called Brothech. The results couldn't be better, the first release was a big success selling over 3000 copies. Wla Garcia "first step" release was licensed for many cd compilations mixed by worldwide know names such as Tiga, Space DJz, Wj henze.
Wla was also recognized for his unique style and was inveted to record and remix for other international labels like bush records where is "work in progress" release was charted by Carl Cox for 5 straight weeks, naked lunch, yin & yang, kombination research, ekhoport, minisketch and led him to travel and play regularly in venues worldwide. Wla Garcia is not only an artist who plays with some of the greatest DJs in the world but is also an artist who, while enjoying DJing also produces some of the finest dance music coming out of portugal.
