Jonty Skrufff (DE) DJ-k / Jonty Skrufff (DE)
[Electro, Techno, Punk]

Jonty Skrufff DJs and produces uber-cool, dirty, sexy, electro-tech tunes as well as publishing acclaimed underground freak-zine Skrufff-E. Soulwax and Chemical Brothers rated his latest remix (of Motor's Death Rave)...

..., the Pet Shop Boys, Judge Jules and Arnaud Blackstrobe are amongst thousands who love his weekly e-zine and clubbers worldwide adore his dance-til-you drop bassline packed beats (in 24 countries so far and counting).

And with a background including DJing at underground/ mixed clubs in London, Brazil and in his new home town of Berlin, the eyeliner-loving Brit is as comfortable playing to fashion conscious hipsters as he is to the 6,000 Beijing locals who saw him headline the city's first official (western) New Years event in 2007.

Launching his DJ career in 2004 at mega-hip Shoreditch club Golf Sale (later renamed Boombox then Ponytrap) he rapidly picked up residencies at London clubs 333 and Fabric (DTPM) simultaneously establishing himself on the international DJ circuit. Headlining superclubs everywhere from Berlin (Tresor), China (G Plus), Japan (Ageha), Dubai (360), and Ukraine (Opium), he's since picked up regular repeat bookings in Brazil (D-Edge, Vegas, A Loca) the Balkans (Exit Festival, Porat, K4 and Neofest), Czech Republic (Roxy) and Ibiza where he's performed at Pacha and Judgement Sunday for the last 3 seasons.

In 2009, he picked up a hugely prestigious summer residency for Pacha at David Guetta's infamous F**k Me, I'm Famous night, spinning in the GLOBAL Room, "the creative heart of the club... where the most experimental genres are heard" (as Pacha puts it). Wrapping up 2009, he's back to Brazil again in November (for his 6th club tour) then Indonesia and Thailand in December before returning to Berlin for New Year's Eve to spin at infamous underground club Villa.

Alongside DJing, he's now devoting increasing energy to producing, most recently delivering a ferocious floor-friendly remake of techno-rockers Motor's latest single "Death Rave", which came out on T Raumschmiere's Shitkatapult and Steve Aoki's Dimmak Records in the US.

His very first track Train Wreck (finished in March 2009) also received a high profile immediate release when it was snapped up by Radio 1 DJ Judge Jules who created his own version of the electro-tech original and included it on his artist album Bring The Noise. Jules' tranced up edit (credited to Jules and Jonty jointly) was also licensed to compilation Miami Trance Anthems (New State Recordings) as the last track following on from productions by artists including Ferry Corsten, Tiesto and Cosmic Gate.

Jonty's version of Death Rave (the only remix released by MOTOR alongside their original) reached an entirely different audience, meanwhile, picking up enthusiastic support from the likes of the Chemical Brothers, Soulwax ("Love it"), Terence Fixmer and German magazine Electronic Beats ("masterpiece").

His next production, a remix of Lady B's Believe In Me (titled Jonty Skrufff's Apostle 13 Remix) is a similarly crunching, electro-tech dance-floor destroyer, which comes out on Lady B's Interférences in December 2009 (like Death Rave, on vinyl). Jonty spends the rest of his time publishing his hugely influential and acclaimed weekly sex-drugs-clubs & politics e-zine Skrufff-E, which also hosts his brand new blog.
